The Festival Trends You’ll Want to Rock This Summer

Posted on 08 July 2015

The sun’s out and festival season has well and truly kicked off!

Whether you’re going to be whiling out the hours at the front of the barrier, waiting for your favourite headliner to come out – or glamping in laidback style, there’s one question that pops up – what to wear to a festival?

Festival fashion has definitely evolved – from the classic uniform of denim cutoffs and Hunter boots, to a glammed up look with plenty of bohemian flair – and everything weird, wonderful and imaginative in between.

To help you get your festival gear in order, we’ve got a round up of some of the best trends around this summer – read on and get your backpack ready!

Get fringe-heavy

Leather Tassel Crossbody BagThis summer’s seen a major 70s resurgence – you can’t step out without tripping on a floor-grazing layer of fringing, and it’s totally perfect for the festival season. And let’s admit – swishing around like an anemone with heaps of fringe is definitely fun!

You can play it cool with a subtle fringe-trimmed crop tee, or a cute tasselled bag that’s just the right size for slinging over your shoulder. Or if you’re ready to embrace the look full on, avoid looking too costumey by sidestepping the cliché crochet and dreamcatcher prints – instead, go for something cool and contemporary - this ombre coloured swing dress plays with fringe in a really unique way.

Keep it all in one

If you’re like us, then comfort is definitely key when it comes to choosing your festival clobber.

Of course, being comfy doesn’t mean you need to cut short on the style factor. Offset your most casual, cosy jumpsuit with some seriously eye-catching bling – these massive statement necklaces from Amanda Marcucci are just perfect for festival season. And the rest of the year, too.

Stick to the classics

When you just want to spend the weekend soaking up the sun (hopefully), awesome music and amazing vibes, then the classic wardrobe will serve you well.

Let your accessories do the talking instead – a wide brimmed floppy hat is a must have when you’re wandering across the field to keep the sun out of your eyes – and for a sparkly dose of humour and kitsch, top off your outfit with one of these mouthwatering treats from Tadam! Just make sure you don’t nibble your dessert when you’re peckish in between sets!
