Geraldine means ‘Spear Bearer’ and it is from this perspective that I get inspiration for my contemporary jewellery.
“My jewellery is for the strong, both inside and out. It’s for the beautiful both inside and out. It is strength in beauty and beauty in strength"
Since my first step into a metalwork class in my teenage years, I have been creating jewellery. After leaving school I completed an intensive jewellery course with Milo Fitzpatrick at his studio off Baggot St. and a craft course in the Liberties College, Dublin .
In 1999 I started working for the artist, sculptor and jewellery designer Alan Ardiff in his Dublin studio. Here, under his watchful eye and along with the guidance of esteemed goldsmith Lee Harding, I honed my jewellery techniques and learned the art of designing and silversmithing.
