About The Designer

A Jewel was established in 2015. This business designs and produces Handmade Precious Metal Jewellery in London workshop.

Akvile Cenkyte (makers mark A.C.) is a Designer Maker and Jeweller in the heart of London who designs and produces Jewellery for the brand A Jewel.

Akvile has graduated from and trained in Jewellery Manufacture and Design at UAL: Holts Academy of Jewellery. Akvile works with precious metals and all her work is handmade using traditional fine jewellery making skills and craftsmanship which was gained from master jewellers and her own development. While the gained skills are for the traditional goldsmith jeweller/mounter, Akvile experiments with various jewellery making techniques including engraving, enameling, cuttlefish casting, wax carving, stone carving, stone setting etc. Creative journey begins with the design idea and develops to the final piece. ''I want to correlate traditional fine jewellery craftsmanship with my own interpretation, to create a new language and to express that language through a piece of jewellery.''

A Jewel inspirations and influences comes from industrialism, city life, urban movements and music which corrugates with ideas from individual interpretation of symbols and archetypes. It gives new symbolic and mystical meanings to Jewellery.
